Notes From The Studio:
A glimpse into the world of an artist

Ever wondered what it’s like to live the life of an artist? What do they think about? How do they plan their artwork? What are the stories behind all of those paintings?

Fortunately for you, not much goes through my head that doesn’t come out of my mouth (or out of the keyboard, as it were).

The life of the artist can be delivered to your inbox, full of juicy details (what shade of blue did I use this week?!) and anecdotes, as well as ramblings about the stories and processes behind my work.

I talk about what inspires me, and what I struggle with. I talk about how I come up with ideas, and how I develop a piece of art. I often share works in progress and you will always be the first to see finished paintings before the rest of the world.

You’ll also be the first to know when a new painting is going to be up for sale, and you’ll get occasional secret discounts and special deals. I try not to be too sales-y on this list, but a girl’s gotta eat. And buy art supplies.

Mostly, I share my life in the studio, and the things I learn there. It’s amazing what you can learn about life, glued to a twirly chair, staring at the same 3 paintings day in and day out. Occasionally, this helps me say something intelligent. Or I just get excited about all the pretty colours.

Oh, and there will be silliness. That is a guarantee.

You can expect to receive Notes about once a week. (I’m an artist, so militaristic regularity is not something you should expect. I occasionally forget to eat when I’m really into a painting.)

Besides, if I have nothing interesting to say, why should I bother you? ;)

Welcome to one artist's odyssey

On May 21st, I'm going on a quest. A quest for art, for meaning, for beauty, for truth. I'm picking up my life, packing up a suitcase and heading to rural France to live, paint and study art for the next 18 months.
