What a beautiful post. And your work, well – my God, you’ve got talent up the wazoo girl!

What are your parents thinking for God sakes?

But, then – how you shifted that focus right out of the box and realized your strengths, your beauty and your talent – that’s just too awesome for words.

You can do this!!!!! And, you know what – you ARE doing it right now.

You’ve got the blog, your art is up and for sale – and you are actually motivating me more and more to get my business in the green so that your work can be on my walls.

I have my eyes on the one titled “innocence” (the woman sleeping) and I have the perfect spot for it.

And this is the central principle of disability rights activism. We ALL have things we can't do. But we don't define ourselves by them. We define ourselves by what we can do. You are an artist. Now, that may be a tough row to hoe, but you have a good handle on how you are going to do it. And people supporting you in the meantime. You've started a business. You are painting (or will be; you have a new easel). You know some of the grants out there and have an idea what you need to do to be competitive for them. Great revelation. Thanks for pointing out what I known all along, It gets real easy to fall in to the trap of I can't because I'm ______, instead of focusing on all the things that I can do, and like my dear granny always told I can't never did anything because I can't don't get up and try.
