Study: Poppies (France)

When I arrived in France last May, it was at the end of the poppy season. One of my first nights there, walking through the town, I spotted these poppies peering over their stone wall from the garden behind. I loved the gorgeous red against the rich blue of the sky, shining one final time before fading away. The next day when I went past again, they were gone.
