Corset

Personally, I love this painting but it’s been quite divisive. People seem to love it or hate it. I painted it from sheer hedonism – I love the sensuousness of the pale powdery skin, the silkiness of the ribbons, the texture of the fabric. I never intended for it to be deep. I just wanted to explore delicious textures. (Secret – It’s actually my back. I got my sister to photograph me wearing my favourite corset.)
